Insights on Balance

Thursday, December 14, 2006

For those of you that may have missed the comment recently left on my last post, my good friend Brady shared some insight on finding balance. Here's what he said:

"We all have areas of life we are trying to balance: work, family, physical well-being, spiritual, etc. I think that we can accomplish more and feel better about our accomplishments if we find tasks that lead toward success in multiple areas. The reason I feel more balanced by going on walks with my family is that I get to spend time with my family at the same time I am working towards physical well-being. It seems like an obvious thing, but I never put it together like this until today and I think this insight will help me be more creative in finding more productive tasks."

Thanks Brady for sharing your insights on this important topic. I'm going to make it a goal to accomplish more by intertwining the different areas in my life.

How To Make Money

Sunday, December 10, 2006

This title may be a little on the misleading side, sorry. There are days when I feel like I've got a good grasp on this topic, while other days (like today) I wonder how in the world I'm going to make the next payroll, which right now only includes me!

There seem to be plenty of people around that have figured out how to make money (and keep making more money). Some of these people actually lead a pretty sad life though because of their inability to balance their priorities in life, while other are equally successful in their rolls as a father, husband, friend, etc.

The good news is that I am trying (very hard) to figure out how to be a successful entrepreneur while leading a balanced life - and the minute I start to figure things out along the way I'm going to share the "secrets" to this mystery with everyone I can, including you (all five of my blog readers).

Tomorrow is Monday, which is a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful thing to have a Monday where you can start fresh. I am going to wipe my white board clean and start from scratch. Begin a new day and week with a positive outlook that I can and will figure out how to make everything work together. And if I have any insights during the week, I'll share them right here for you.
